Hi! I’m the founder, Ilse Werther

I am a dyslexia/reading specialist who utilizes the Orton-Gillingham Approach. My interest in what I do was sparked more than a decade ago when my youngest daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia, after struggling in school for years. I know—firsthand—the complexities of diagnosing, supporting and advocating for children with language-based learning differences. This experience led me to pursue a degree in elementary education, with a focus on teaching children with dyslexia and child mental health. Prior to that, I was an international fashion model, and then an SVP of merchandising at an upscale fashion boutique, experiences that provided me with a deep, multicultural perspective and strong work ethic. My passion has always been teaching children to read and helping them reach their potential, which led to the creation and growth of LGR Learning Group. My team and I have a consistent record of transformational results and are recommended by a large network of the families we support as well as multiple leading neuropsychologists, pediatricians, psychologists, learning specialists and public and private school administrators with whom we collaborate.

P.S. My daughter mentioned above graduated from high school with honors and is thriving at her university. Dyslexia is a gift, and a person can reach the stars with the right support.

She graduated in 2009 with two Masters, one in Childhood Education and the other in Reading Remediation. As a teacher in a multicultural classroom of twenty-four students with varying language capabilities, she took on the challenge of meeting the needs of a vast scope of readers, writers, and speakers. There she was able to continue an inquiry-based teaching approach with a focus on socio-emotional development alongside a dedication to the Orton-Gillingham Approach focusing on multi-sensory, highly prescriptive teaching tailored to each individual student.
